About Sarah
Speech Pathologist
Meet Sarah, one of our Speech Pathologists with over five years of experience living and working in Broome. She has extensive expertise in the disability sector and has provided outreach services across the West Kimberley and Pilbara regions. Originally from Melbourne, Sarah has a Dual Diploma in Tourism and a Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Marketing, which led to a successful career in the hospitality industry. This has allowed her to reside in multiple countries, including the United States, Thailand, and Japan, as well as various regions within Australia.
Driven by a passion for healthcare and communication, Sarah transitioned into Speech Pathology and completed a Master’s degree in the field. Sarah presented on Service provision improvements at La Trobe University’s trans and gender-diverse voice clinic at the AUSPATH Conference in Perth. Also completing a six-week placement with Majarlin Kimberley Centre for Remote Health at the University of Notre Dame in Broome.
Upon graduating, Sarah secured a role as a remote Speech Pathologist in Broome, delivering clinical services across diverse settings and dedicating much of her second career to outreach work in remote Aboriginal communities, including Noonkanbah, Jarlmadangah, Junjuwa, Bayulu, Looma, Jigalong and others.
Sarah has a strong understanding of Trauma-Informed practice, is trained in the Hanen It Takes Two to Talk program and is a certified Mental Health First Aider. Recently, she welcomed a daughter and transitioned to a part-time role with Majarlin as an Allied Health Student Coordinator, collaborating with clinical educators, health professionals, and universities nationwide to support and facilitate high-quality student placements in the Kimberley. Additionally, she has joined KTS part-time as a Speech Pathologist, where she looks forward to supporting her participants.
Sarah enjoys the relaxed Kimberley lifestyle, spending time at the beach, and continues to embrace travel whenever possible, further enriching her experiences both professionally and personally.
